What's new

Caspian Office is updated frequently. Below is a running history of every release — every new tool, every fix, every improvement.

CURRENT VERSION · v1.93.0
v1.93.0 28 June 2026 HSE
New HSE tool: the Observation Card Calculator
NewObservation Card Calculator. An eighth tool joins the HSE section. Forecast how many safety observation cards a workforce should produce from its size, shift mix and exposure hours, or grade your actual card count against maturity tiers from Reactive to World-class. It includes an interactive safety pyramid (Heinrich, Bird, ConocoPhillips or a custom ratio) to relate near-misses and at-risk behaviours to higher-severity events. Find it in the HSE menu and the HSE Toolkit collection — it runs entirely in your browser.
v1.92.0 28 June 2026 Tool guides & SEO
Every tool now has a built-in “About this tool” guide
NewInstructions below every tool. Each tool now shows an About this tool section underneath it — what it is and when to use it, a step-by-step how-to, frequently asked questions, handy tips, and links to related tools. It’s there to help you get the most out of each tool without leaving the page.
ImprovedRicher search-engine pages. The same guide now fills out each tool’s public landing page with real, unique content plus FAQ and How-to structured data, and crawlable links between related tools — so Caspian Office is easier to discover on the web. As always, nothing is generated by AI at runtime and everything still runs entirely in your browser.
v1.91.0 28 June 2026 HSE & Collections
A new HSE section, seven safety tools, and Collections
NewHSE section — Health, Safety & Environment. A new top-level area for occupational safety, with seven tools: a Risk Assessment Matrix (5×5 likelihood × severity with a full risk register), a Job Safety Analysis (JSA) builder, a DROPS Calculator (dropped-object consequence), an Incident Rate Calculator (TRIR, DART, LTIFR & severity rate), a Heat Index calculator, a Noise Exposure dose/TWA calculator, and the NIOSH Lifting Equation. All run entirely in your browser.
NewCollections — curated bundles of tools. A brand-new way to browse: a collection gathers tools that go together for a job even when they live in different parts of the menu — like the HSE Toolkit, Incident Investigation, Developer Toolkit, Islamic Tools, Project Management and Continuous Improvement. Browse them all at /collections, from the header link, the Tools menu, or the home page.
v1.90.0 28 June 2026 New home
Caspian Office has a new home at caspianoffice.io
ImprovedNew primary address: caspianoffice.io. Caspian Office now lives at its own short, easy-to-remember domain. All the same tools, the same private, in-browser experience — just a cleaner home. Bookmarks and links to the old address keep working.
ImprovedSearch & sharing tidied up. Canonical links, sitemap and social preview cards now point at the new domain, so search results and shared links resolve to one consistent address.
v1.89.0 24 June 2026 Privacy & Security
Cookie consent, a Privacy Policy & hardened security headers
NewCookie consent banner. The hosted site's anonymous analytics are now off until you opt in — no analytics cookies are set unless you choose Accept, and you can change or withdraw your choice any time on the new Privacy page. The offline download still ships with no analytics at all.
NewPrivacy Policy page. A plain-language page (linked in the footer, at /privacy) explaining exactly what does and doesn't happen with your data — including the few moments the browser reaches the network, and how to control them.
ImprovedHardened HTTP security headers. Added a Content-Security-Policy (report-only for now), plus X-Content-Type-Options, frame protection, Referrer-Policy and Permissions-Policy, and a /.well-known/security.txt contact for responsible disclosure.
ImprovedRicher SEO & a no-JS fallback. Tool pages now include BreadcrumbList structured data and the home page describes the app for search engines, plus a clear message for visitors who have JavaScript turned off.
v1.88.0 22 June 2026 Slides
Slides — style your text boxes: fonts, borders & fill
NewFont picker for text boxes. Select a text box and pick any font: a set of built-in web-safe fonts that always work offline, a curated set of popular Google Fonts (fetched the first time you open the picker), and — in Chromium browsers — every font installed on your computer via “+ Add fonts from this computer”.
NewText-box border & fill. Give a text box a border with its own width, colour and corner radius, plus a background fill colour — or leave it transparent with “No fill”. Borders and fills carry through to PDF and PowerPoint export.
v1.87.1 22 June 2026 Slides
Slides — connection dots are much easier to grab
FixedDrawing arrows between blocks. The connection dots that appear on a block now have a far more forgiving grab area, so dragging from one block to another to draw a connector starts reliably — previously a press that landed a few pixels off the small dot would miss it and deselect the block instead of starting the arrow.
v1.87.0 21 June 2026 Editing
Undo & Redo across every editing tool
NewUndo & Redo buttons. Every tool where you build or edit something — diagrams, boards, canvases, the image editor, Slides, document & design builders and the text editors — now has Undo and Redo buttons in the tool header, plus the usual Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Y (⌘ on Mac) shortcuts. Step back and forward through your edits — adding, deleting, renaming, moving, importing or resetting — with everything kept on your device and fully offline. Calculators, converters and generators are unaffected (there's nothing to undo there).
v1.86.0 21 June 2026 Slides
Slides — pick your connector type from a dropdown
ImprovedConnector type dropdown. The Arrow tool in the Slides ribbon now has a dropdown — choose Line, Arrow, Elbow connector or Curved connector, then drag from one block's connection dots onto another to draw it in that style. You can still fine-tune any arrow's heads, colour and thickness after drawing it.
v1.85.0 21 June 2026 Slides
Slides gets a PowerPoint-style ribbon and connector arrows between blocks
NewConnector arrows. Hover any block to reveal its connection dots, then drag from a dot onto another block to draw an arrow between them. Select an arrow to open its settings — routing (straight, elbow or curved), start and end heads (arrow, open, dot or diamond), colour, thickness and line style. Arrows follow their blocks as you move them, are included in the PDF and editable .pptx exports, and are removed automatically when a block they connect is deleted.
ImprovedA PowerPoint-style ribbon. The Slides toolbar is now a tabbed ribbon — Home, Insert, Design and Slide Show — grouping new/duplicate/delete slide, text, image and shapes, themes and background, connectors, present and export into a familiar layout.
v1.84.0 20 June 2026 Stability fix
Fixed a clash between the Org chart maker and the Social preview card maker
FixedThe Org chart maker and the Social preview card maker shared an internal name prefix, so opening both in the same session could make one of them look or behave wrongly. They're now fully independent.
v1.83.0 20 June 2026 Word unscrambler
New tool: an anagram solver & word unscrambler
NewAnagram solver & word unscrambler. Type some scrambled letters and find every dictionary word you can make from them — grouped by length, with an option for exact anagrams (using all the letters) and a “?” blank for a wildcard tile. Great for Scrabble, Wordle and word games. The English wordlist (~359,000 words, public domain) downloads once on first use and then everything — the lookup of hundreds of thousands of words — runs entirely in your browser.
v1.82.0 20 June 2026 More everyday tools
Four more tools — number base, HTML entities, time duration & sales tax
NewNumber base converter. Convert a whole number between binary, octal, decimal, hexadecimal and any base from 2 to 36 — with arbitrary precision, live as you type.
NewHTML entity encoder / decoder. Escape text into HTML entities so it shows literally in a page, or decode entities back — with an option to numeric-encode every non-ASCII character.
NewTime duration calculator. Work out how long there is between a start and end time — handling shifts past midnight and subtracting a break — as hours & minutes, decimal hours and total minutes.
NewSales tax & VAT calculator. Add tax to a net price to get the gross, or strip it out of a gross price to find the net — with the tax amount shown either way.
FixedResolved a styling clash where the Unix timestamp converter and the Timesheet tool shared an internal name prefix.
v1.81.0 20 June 2026 Developer utilities
Six developer utilities — UUID, hash, URL, JSON, timestamp & JWT
NewUUID generator. Generate cryptographically-random version-4 UUIDs — one or many at once, with options for uppercase, no hyphens or braces.
NewHash generator. Get the MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256, SHA-384 and SHA-512 digests of any text, live. SHA hashes use your browser's WebCrypto; MD5 is bundled.
NewURL encoder / decoder. Percent-encode text for URLs or decode it back, switching between a whole URL and a single component.
NewJSON formatter & validator. Pretty-print JSON with the indent you choose, minify it to one line, or validate it with a clear error message and line/column.
NewUnix timestamp converter. Turn an epoch timestamp into local/UTC/ISO and a relative time — or a date into its timestamp in seconds and milliseconds. The current epoch ticks live.
NewJWT decoder. Decode a JSON Web Token's header and payload, with the time claims as readable dates and an expiry check. It decodes only — it never verifies signatures or sends the token anywhere.
v1.80.0 20 June 2026 Text & date utilities
Four text & date tools — counter, transformer, age & Hijri converter
NewWord & character counter. Paste text and get live counts — words, characters with and without spaces, sentences, paragraphs and lines — plus estimated reading and speaking time.
NewText transformer & cleaner. Reshape text with one click — change case, reverse it, flip it upside down, repeat it, tidy up spaces and blank lines, and sort, number or de-duplicate lines. Transforms apply in place so you can chain them.
NewAge calculator. Enter a date of birth and get the exact age in years, months and days, the totals in months/weeks/days/hours, the weekday you were born, and a countdown to your next birthday.
NewHijri ⇄ Gregorian converter. Convert dates both ways between the Gregorian and Islamic (Hijri) calendars, using the Umm al-Qura calendar built into your browser — no data files, no network. (Local moon-sighting may differ by a day.)
v1.79.0 20 June 2026 Everyday-math pack
Four everyday calculators — percentage, tip, discount & GPA
NewPercentage calculator. The everyday percentage questions in one place — what is X% of Y, X is what percent of Y, the percentage change between two numbers, and increasing or decreasing a number by a percentage — all live as you type.
NewTip & bill split calculator. Enter the bill, tap a tip percentage and split it between any number of people — see the tip, the total and exactly what each person pays, with an option to round each share up.
NewDiscount, markup & margin calculator. Three pricing sums in one: the discount (a % off → sale price and how much you save), the markup (cost + markup % → selling price) and the margin (cost and price → profit margin and markup %).
NewGPA calculator. List your courses with a letter grade and the credit hours for each, and get your weighted grade-point average on the standard 4.0 scale, plus total credits.
v1.78.0 20 June 2026 Halal-finance pack
Three new halal-finance tools — Faraid, Savings goal & Murabaha
NewFaraid — Islamic inheritance calculator. Divide an estate among the principal heirs under Sunni inheritance law (farāʾid) — spouse, parents, children and full or maternal siblings. It works out the Qur'anic fixed shares and the residue as exact fractions, percentages and amounts, correctly handling ʿawl, radd and the ʿUmariyyatān case. It's an educational aid, not a fatwa — grandparents, grandchildren and consanguine siblings aren't modelled yet, and complex estates should go to a scholar.
NewSavings goal planner. Plan plain, interest-free saving: enter a goal and a time frame to see how much to set aside each month, or a monthly amount to see how long it'll take and the date you'll get there — with a progress bar. No riba, just arithmetic.
NewMurabaha calculator. Work out a cost-plus sale: a known asset bought at a cost and sold at a fixed, agreed profit, paid in equal monthly instalments — a fixed markup, not interest accruing over time. Shows the sale price, amount financed and the monthly instalment.
v1.77.0 20 June 2026 HEIC & more formats
The Image converter now opens HEIC, AVIF, SVG & more — with dedicated format pages
ImprovedImage converter — many more formats. It now opens iPhone HEIC/HEIF photos — decoded right on your device with libheif compiled to WebAssembly — plus AVIF, SVG, BMP and GIF, and saves as PNG, JPG, WebP or AVIF. Drop a folder of HEIC pictures and get JPGs, individually or as a ZIP. Your photos never leave your device.
NewDedicated converter pages. The conversions people search for most now have their own clean, shareable links — HEIC to JPG, PNG to JPG, WebP to PNG, SVG to PNG and more — each opening the converter pre-set to that format. One tool underneath, many easy front doors.
v1.76.0 20 June 2026 Calorie & BMI calculator
New tool — and a new Health & fitness section
NewCalorie & BMI calculator. Enter your sex, age, height, weight and activity level and get the full picture: your BMI with the healthy-weight range for your height, your BMR (Mifflin-St Jeor), your maintenance calories (TDEE), a daily calorie target for losing, holding or gaining weight, and a protein / carb / fat macro split you can choose. Works in metric or imperial, saves on your device, and exports a PNG summary. It's an estimate, not medical advice — and it opens a new Health & fitness section with more tools to come. Runs entirely in your browser.
v1.75.0 20 June 2026 Zakat calculator
New tool: a Zakat calculator
NewZakat calculator. Work out the zakat (2.5%) due on your wealth — cash, gold and silver, business and trade goods, investments and money owed to you — minus the debts you owe, checked against the gold or silver nisab. You enter today's gold and silver price per gram (Caspian Office never fetches live rates); the tool values your metals, totals your net zakatable wealth, tells you whether you're above the nisab and shows the amount due — with a doughnut chart of where your wealth sits. Everything is saved on your device, and you can export a PNG statement or a CSV. It's an educational estimate that runs entirely offline — for complex cases, check with a qualified scholar.
v1.74.0 19 June 2026 Rich link previews
Shared links now show a rich preview card
ImprovedRich social previews. Sharing Caspian Office — or any individual tool — on social media, in chat or by email now shows a large branded preview card with the tool's name and description, instead of a tiny icon. Every tool gets its own generated 1200×630 image, and every page now carries complete Open Graph and Twitter Card tags, a canonical URL and a single page heading, so individual tools preview cleanly and can be indexed on their own. As always, nothing about how the tools work changed — everything still runs entirely in your browser.
v1.73.0 19 June 2026 Tally counter
New tool: a big tap-to-count tally counter
NewTally counter. A big tap-to-count counter for people through a door, reps, laps, votes, stock — anything you'd count on a handheld clicker. Tap the number (or press Space) to add one and Backspace to subtract; the + and buttons step too. Choose the step size (1, 5, 10, 100 or a custom amount), turn on optional min/max limits so the count can't run past a target, add a click sound and pick a colour for the digits. A distraction-free fullscreen mode turns any screen into a giant counter. Your count, label and settings are saved on your device — close the tab and it's still there — and like everything in Caspian Office it runs entirely offline.
v1.72.0 18 June 2026 PDF to text · OCR
PDF to text reflows paragraphs, flags broken fonts, and hands off to a multilingual OCR
ImprovedReflow paragraphs. Digital PDFs often keep a hard line break at the end of every typeset line, so pasted text wraps mid-sentence. A new Reflow paragraphs toggle re-joins those wrapped lines into flowing paragraphs and de-hyphenates words split across a line break (adlan- + dırdıklarıadlandırdıkları). It detects headings, list and verse numbers, indents and tables and leaves those breaks intact. Off by default — the original line breaks are one click away.
ImprovedA heads-up when a PDF's text layer is broken. Some PDFs embed a custom or subset font with a broken character map, so the page looks fine but the extracted text comes out as boxes or wrong characters that can't be recovered. PDF to text now detects this and says so, with a one-click handoff that carries your file straight into the OCR tool.
NewOCR speaks more languages. The OCR tool can now read Turkish, German, French and Spanish as well as English (pick the language, or English + Turkish together) — so PDFs whose text layer is unreadable can still be turned into accurate text from the page image. Everything still runs offline in your browser; each language model loads once and is cached.
v1.71.0 18 June 2026 Timeline
Timeline: a sectioned date axis that groups events by period
ImprovedSections instead of a stretched axis. When you sort by date, the timeline now gives each period its own section sized to fit its events — one year per section for multi-year stories, and automatically months, days or hours for finer data (incident logs group by hour). The next section only starts once the previous one's events are done, so entries that fall close together no longer pile up or overlap. Empty periods are skipped, and matching periods line up across every track.
v1.70.0 18 June 2026 PDF to JSON
New tool: turn a digital PDF into structured JSON
NewPDF to JSON. Pull a digital PDF’s real, selectable text out as structured JSON — entirely in your browser, no OCR and nothing uploaded. Choose Text mode for document info plus one reconstructed text string per page, or Detailed mode for each page’s dimensions and every text item with its position, size and font. View one page or the whole document, pretty-print or minify, then copy or save a .json.
v1.69.0 18 June 2026 Timeline
Timeline: tidy connectors for closely-spaced entries
ImprovedCleaner clustered entries. When several events fall close together in time on the date axis, their cards stack apart but now connect to their point with a neat right-angle (elbow) leader instead of a crossing diagonal — so a tight cluster reads as a tidy bracket. Each event keeps its own card, and the dots stay at their true time on the axis.
v1.68.0 18 June 2026 Timeline
Timeline polish: rows by default, all-white canvas & steadier date ordering
FixedSteadier date ordering. Timelines that mixed date formats (plain years like 2022 alongside month-and-year like 2024 March) could place entries out of order and flip an arrow backwards. Ordering and position now use one consistent time scale, so every track reads cleanly start to finish.
ImprovedRows editor by default, with entries you can always drag — dragging an entry simply switches that timeline to manual order. The canvas is now plain white (no checkerboard), and the date axis sits neatly to the side of the timelines.
v1.67.0 18 June 2026 Timeline
Timeline: a proper date axis, plus a draggable rows editor
NewProportional date axis. With Sort by date on, entries now sit on a shared time scale — gaps reflect the real elapsed time and a moment lines up across every track, with a labelled axis along the bottom (horizontal) or down the side (vertical). Turn sorting off to place entries evenly by hand instead.
NewMarkup or rows editor. Switch each track between a free-text Markup box and a structured Rows editor with separate date and label fields per entry.
NewDrag to reorder. In the Rows editor, drag the handles to reorder entries within a track, and drag whole tracks to reorder the lanes or columns (when not sorting by date).
v1.66.0 18 June 2026 Timeline
Timeline: vertical layouts, click-to-edit entries & nicer cards
NewHorizontal or vertical timelines. A new Layout switch lays your tracks out as stacked horizontal lanes (time flows left to right) or as side-by-side vertical columns (time flows top to bottom) — pick whichever reads best for your story.
NewClick to edit. Click any entry directly on the timeline to edit its date and label in place — changes sync straight back to the track boxes. No more hunting through the text to fix a typo.
ImprovedNicer cards. Entry cards get softer shadows, rounder corners and a cleaner colour accent, and there's now a little breathing room between the last entry and the arrow head.
v1.65.0 18 June 2026 Timeline
Timeline goes multi-track — and wide timelines now scroll
ImprovedMultiple named tracks. The Timeline maker now builds several independent, stacked lanes — give each track its own name and colour and a box of time | label events, then add or remove tracks freely. Perfect for incident timelines where Events, People and Equipment each need their own row. Clock times like 09:14 are understood alongside dates and years. Your tracks save on your device.
FixedWide timelines scroll. The preview no longer shrinks long timelines to fit — wide, multi-track charts keep their natural size and scroll horizontally so every milestone stays readable.
v1.64.0 17 June 2026 Toggle switches
Checkboxes are now toggle switches across the whole app
ImprovedEvery checkbox is now a toggle switch. All on/off options across the app — gridlines, alarms and sound, lock-aspect-ratio, password character sets, page markers, all-day events and the rest — now use one consistent iOS-style toggle that matches the switch on the Updates page. It's a pure visual refresh: each option behaves exactly as before, and everything stays 100% client-side and offline.
v1.63.0 17 June 2026 Thinking frameworks
Four new thinking-framework tools — Fishbone, Issue tree, PESTLE & Impact–Effort
NewFishbone (Ishikawa) diagram. Map the many causes of a problem onto a classic cause-and-effect diagram: write the effect at the fish's head, then sort contributing causes into branches — the 6M categories (Methods, Machines, Materials, Manpower, Measurement, Environment) by default, or your own. A companion to 5 Whys: where that drills one chain, this organises causes by category. Export SVG, PNG or PDF. Saved on your device; fully offline.
NewIssue tree. Break a big problem into a tidy logic tree of MECE (mutually-exclusive, collectively-exhaustive) sub-issues and drivers. Add and rename branches inline; the tree auto-arranges itself left-to-right as you go. Export SVG, PNG or PDF. Saved on your device; fully offline.
NewPESTLE analysis. Scan the big-picture forces around a plan or decision across six lenses — Political, Economic, Social, Technological, Legal and Environmental. Add points, edit inline, then export PNG, PDF or plain text. A macro-environment companion to the SWOT tool. Saved on your device.
NewImpact–Effort matrix. Prioritise tasks on a 2×2 of impact against effort — spot the Quick Wins, plan the Major Projects, slot in Fill-ins and skip the Thankless Tasks. Add tasks and drag them between quadrants, then export PNG, PDF or text. Saved on your device.
v1.62.0 17 June 2026 5 Whys
New: 5 Whys root-cause analysis — ask "Why?" down to the root cause
New5 Whys analysis. State a problem, then keep asking "Why?" until you reach a cause you can actually fix. Build it as a single linear chain or flip on Allow branching to give any cause several contributing reasons (a why-why tree). Mark the real root cause with a star, then export the diagram as SVG, PNG or PDF, a Markdown outline for your ticket or wiki, or JSON to save and reload. Saved on your device; fully offline.
v1.61.0 17 June 2026 Lean & Six Sigma
New: a Lean / Six Sigma continuous-improvement suite — six tools
NewContinuous improvement board. Capture improvement ideas once and see them three ways: a workflow board you can switch between Kaizen (Ideas → To do → Doing → Done), PDCA (Plan / Do / Check / Act) and DMAIC (Define / Measure / Analyze / Improve / Control) columns, a PICK impact/effort matrix you drag cards across, and ICE scoring (Impact × Confidence × Ease). Every card keeps an owner, due date, impact, effort and the problem & root cause. Saved on your device; export to JSON, CSV, PNG or PDF, and print. Fully offline.
NewFive focused tools too. Prefer one method? Each is also its own tool: Kaizen board, PDCA board, DMAIC board, PICK chart and ICE scoring — same rich cards and the same JSON / CSV / PNG / PDF / print export everywhere.
v1.60.0 17 June 2026 Cleaner toolbars
The tidy toolbar now reaches every tool, including the PDF suite
ImprovedThe whole toolkit now shares one action bar. The PDF and image tools — Merge, Split, Compress, Rotate, Watermark, Sign, Scan, Convert, and the rest — now put their Download / Save button up on the title row too, matching every other tool. One predictable place for the output of every tool, no matter which one you're using.
v1.59.0 17 June 2026 Cleaner toolbars
Every tool's actions now live on one tidy toolbar
ImprovedA consistent action bar across the toolkit. Each tool's buttons now sit on the same row as its title, on the right. Export and download options are merged into a single Download button with a dropdown — pick PNG, SVG, PDF, CSV and so on from one place — while quick actions like Copy and Print become compact icon buttons. It's cleaner, more predictable, and gives the tools themselves more room.
FixedPop-up dialogs that wouldn't fully close. A couple of tools' dialogs (the social-card meta-tags box and the ER diagram SQL view) could leave an invisible layer over the page that quietly blocked clicks. Hidden really means hidden now, everywhere.
v1.58.0 17 June 2026 Break-even
New tool: find your break-even point and price for profit
NewBreak-even & margin calculator. Enter your fixed costs, price and variable cost per unit to see exactly how many units — and how much revenue — you need to break even, along with your contribution margin and the units required to hit a profit target, all on a clear break-even chart. A second tab solves margins and markups both ways: work out the margin and markup from a cost and price, or the price you should charge to hit a target margin or markup. All in your browser.
v1.57.0 17 June 2026 Decision matrix
New tool: make the call with a weighted decision matrix
NewDecision matrix. Torn between options? List them, set how much each criterion matters with a weight, and score every option — the weighted totals, the percentage and the ranking update live, with the winner highlighted and a bar chart of how they stack up. Add or remove options and criteria freely, save it on your device, and export the whole thing to CSV.
v1.56.0 17 June 2026 PDF metadata
New tool: see and scrub a PDF's hidden properties
NewPDF metadata editor. Drop in a PDF to reveal its hidden document properties — title, author, subject, keywords, the software that produced it, and the creation and modification dates. Edit any of them, or wipe them all with one click to strip identifying information, then save a clean copy. All done in your browser; the file is never uploaded.
v1.55.0 17 June 2026 PDF to text
New tool: pull the text straight out of a PDF
NewPDF to text. Drop in a digital PDF and get its real, selectable text back — reconstructed line by line, the whole document or a single page. Copy it to the clipboard or save a .txt. There's no OCR and no upload: the text is read straight from the file in your browser, and if a PDF turns out to be a scan with no text layer, it tells you and points you to the OCR tool instead.
v1.54.1 17 June 2026 SEO
Richer link previews and cleaner search results
ImprovedShareable link previews. Sharing a Caspian Office link on social media, chat or messaging apps now shows a proper title, description and icon, thanks to Open Graph and Twitter card tags. Every page also declares its canonical address, so search engines index the right URL for each tool.
FixedOne heading per page. Each view now exposes a single top-level heading, giving screen readers and search engines a clean, correct page structure.
v1.54.0 17 June 2026 Home page
A proper home page — every tool in one place
NewTool index landing page. Opening Caspian Office now greets you with a real home page that lists every tool, instead of dropping you straight into one. On desktop it's a modern catalogue grouped by section — PDF, Image & Video, Generators and the rest — with a search box and quick-jump chips. On phones it's a clean, native A→Z list with search at the top. Click the logo any time to come back to it.
ImprovedTidier links. Split PDF now lives at its own /tool/split/ address and the home page is simply /, so every tool has a clean, shareable URL.
v1.53.0 17 June 2026 Install on mobile
Add Caspian Office to your home screen — on Android and iPhone
ImprovedInstall on mobile. Caspian Office has always been an installable app, but the install option was hidden on phones. Now an Install button shows in the header on mobile, a one-time prompt invites you to add it to your home screen, and there's an Install on your device card on the About page. Tap it and you get a full-screen, offline app icon — no app store, no account.
NewiPhone & iPad guidance. Because Safari can't pop an install dialog, the install button now walks you through the two-tap "Share → Add to Home Screen" steps instead of doing nothing.
v1.52.1 16 June 2026 Tidier changelog
The changelog now opens with just the latest release expanded
ImprovedCollapsible changelog. This page now opens with only the newest release expanded — every older release shows its version and headline, and you click its header to expand or collapse the details. Keeps the long history easy to skim.
v1.52.0 16 June 2026 Social preview card
New tool: design the image people see when your link is shared
NewSocial preview (OG) card maker. Design the 1200×630 image that shows when your link is shared on Facebook, LinkedIn, Slack or X — set the title, description and brand, pick a solid, gradient or photo background, choose your colours and add a logo, all with a live preview. Download the PNG and copy ready-to-paste og: and twitter: meta tags. Drawn entirely in your browser.
v1.51.0 16 June 2026 Video to GIF
New tool: turn a video clip into a GIF — privately
NewVideo to GIF. Load a video from your device, trim the start and end to the moment you want, choose a frame rate and size, add an optional caption, and turn it into a looping animated GIF. Frames are read straight from the video and encoded into the GIF entirely in your browser — your video is never uploaded anywhere.
New libraryBundled gifenc, a tiny in-browser GIF encoder, to power it.
v1.50.0 16 June 2026 Watermark images
New tool: watermark and brand your images in bulk
NewImage watermark & batch brander. Drop in one image or a hundred and stamp a text and/or logo watermark across all of them at once. Set the position, opacity, rotation, colour and size — or tile the text across the whole picture — and watch a live preview update as you tweak. Download a single image or all of them as one zip. Every picture is processed on your own device; nothing is ever uploaded.
v1.49.0 16 June 2026 ER diagram
New tool: design a database and get the SQL
NewER diagram maker. Sketch a database schema: add tables with typed columns, mark primary, foreign and not-null keys, and link tables with one-to-one, one-to-many or many-to-many relationships drawn in proper crow's-foot notation. Drag the boxes to lay everything out, then export the diagram as SVG or PNG — or generate ready-to-run CREATE TABLE SQL, complete with primary and foreign keys. Everything stays in your browser.
v1.48.0 16 June 2026 Sankey diagram
New tool: turn a list of flows into a Sankey diagram
NewSankey diagram maker. Paste your flows as simple Source, Target, Value lines — a budget, an energy mix, website traffic, anything that splits and merges — and watch them lay themselves out into a clean Sankey diagram with ribbons sized in proportion to their values. The columns, node heights and ribbon order are all worked out for you. Toggle value labels and export a crisp SVG or PNG. Drawn entirely in your browser.
v1.47.0 16 June 2026 Venn diagram
New tool: make a Venn diagram in seconds
NewVenn diagram maker. Build a two- or three-circle Venn diagram: name each set, type what belongs in every region — including the overlaps and the centre — then pick colours and how strongly they blend. The diagram updates live as you type, and you can export it as a crisp scalable SVG or a PNG. Drawn entirely in your browser.
v1.46.0 16 June 2026 Periodic table
New tool: an interactive periodic table with a molar-mass calculator
NewPeriodic table & molar mass. A colour-coded interactive periodic table of all 118 elements — click any one for its atomic number, weight, group, period and block, search by name or symbol, and highlight a category. Below it, a chemical-formula calculator works out the molar mass and percent composition of any compound, handling nested groups like Ca(OH)₂ and hydrates like CuSO₄·5H₂O. Click an element to drop its symbol straight into the formula. All offline, in your browser.
v1.45.0 16 June 2026 Statistics calculator
New tool: descriptive statistics, a histogram and a box plot at a glance
NewStatistics calculator. Paste a column of numbers and instantly get the full picture — mean, median and mode; sample and population standard deviation and variance; range, quartiles, IQR, outliers and skewness — alongside a histogram and a box plot. Switch to two-variable mode and paste X, Y pairs to get the correlation coefficient, R² and a best-fit regression line drawn over your scatter plot. Copy the numbers or export any chart as a PNG. All computed in your browser.
v1.44.0 16 June 2026 Graphing calculator
New tool — and a new “Education & math” section
NewScientific & graphing calculator. A full scientific calculator — trig in degrees or radians, logarithms, powers, factorials, combinations/permutations, and constants like π and e — backed by a real expression parser (no eval). Switch to the graph tab to plot one or more y = f(x) curves on a grid you can drag to pan and scroll to zoom, with the roots, y-intercepts and intersection points worked out for you and a one-click PNG export. Your history and graphs stay on your device.
ImprovedNew “Education & math” menu section to house it (and the maths tools to come).
v1.43.0 16 June 2026 Budget planner
New tool: plan your monthly budget and see where the money goes
NewBudget planner. List your income and your expenses, tag each expense with a category, and watch your totals, what's left over (or your shortfall) and your savings rate update live as you type. A doughnut chart breaks your spending down by category so you can see where the money goes. Pick a currency symbol, export the breakdown as a PNG or every line as a CSV, and pick up where you left off — it all saves on your device. Fully offline.
v1.42.0 16 June 2026 Habit tracker
New tool: build a daily habit streak on a month grid
NewHabit tracker. Add the habits you want to build, then tick each one off day by day on a clean month grid. Every habit shows its current streak (🔥) and its monthly completion total, so you can see the chain you're keeping. Move between months, add or remove habits any time, and export the grid as a PNG. Everything saves on your device — no account, fully offline.
v1.41.0 16 June 2026 Email signature
New tool: a professional email signature in seconds
NewEmail signature generator. Fill in your name, role, company, contact details and links, pick an accent colour and one of three layouts (classic, stacked or compact), and watch a clean, email-safe signature build live. It's plain table-based HTML with inline styles, so it pastes correctly into Gmail, Outlook and Apple Mail — copy it as a ready-to-paste signature, or grab the raw HTML. Saved on your device.
v1.40.0 16 June 2026 SVG export
Download diagrams as scalable SVG
ImprovedSVG download for every diagram tool. The Flowchart maker, Gantt chart, Mind map maker, Org chart maker and User flow maker now export a true vector SVG alongside PNG (and PDF where offered) — crisp at any size and editable in design tools like Figma, Illustrator or Inkscape. These tools already draw as SVG internally, so the export is the real vector, not a bitmap in disguise. The Barcode generator and Timeline maker already offered SVG.
v1.39.0 16 June 2026 Timeline maker
New tool: turn milestones into a timeline
NewTimeline maker. List your milestones one per line as date | label and get a clean horizontal timeline, with markers alternating above and below the line and the dates sorted for you. Pick an accent colour, then export the result as a PNG, an SVG or a PDF — handy for roadmaps, project histories and about pages. The layout is worked out automatically, all in your browser.
v1.38.0 16 June 2026 Regex tester
New tool: test regular expressions live
NewRegex tester. Write a regular expression, toggle the flags (g, i, m, s, u), and watch every match light up in your test text as you type — with a list of matches and their capture groups, and a clear message if the pattern is invalid. A replace box previews the result of a substitution (with $1, $2 back-references), and a built-in cheatsheet covers the common tokens. Copy the finished /pattern/flags in one click.
v1.37.0 16 June 2026 Sticky notes
New tool: a corkboard of sticky notes
NewSticky notes board. A freeform corkboard for jotting and arranging ideas. Add colour-coded sticky notes, edit them in place, drag them around, resize them by the corner, and recolour the one you’ve selected. The whole board saves on your device as you go, and you can export it as a PNG to share. All in your browser.
v1.36.0 16 June 2026 CSS effects generator
New tool: design CSS effects and copy the code
NewCSS effects generator. Dial in four popular effects with sliders and a live preview, then copy the CSS: a box-shadow (offset, blur, spread, colour, opacity, inset), border-radius (each corner, optionally linked), glassmorphism (frosted blur, tint and saturation) and neumorphism (soft dual shadows, with flat, concave, convex or pressed shapes). A handy companion to the colour tools, all in your browser.
v1.35.0 16 June 2026 Meeting agenda & minutes
New tool: run a meeting from agenda to action items
NewMeeting agenda & minutes. Plan a meeting with a timed agenda (topics, owners and minutes, with the total worked out for you), then capture the minutes — discussion notes, the decisions made, and action items with owners and due dates — all on a live A4 preview. Export a clean PDF to share, or copy the whole thing as Markdown to drop into your notes. Saved on your device.
v1.34.0 15 June 2026 Calendar event
New tool: make a calendar event anyone can add
NewCalendar event maker. Fill in an event — title, location, start and end (or all-day), an optional reminder and a repeat rule — and download a standards-compliant .ics file that adds straight to Google, Apple or Outlook calendars. A live card previews the event, you can open it in Google Calendar in one click, or copy the raw .ics. It all happens in your browser.
v1.33.0 15 June 2026 Flowchart maker
New tool: write a flowchart as a simple outline
NewFlowchart maker. Type your steps one per line and the shapes are drawn for you — wrap text in ( ) for a start/end, [ ] for a process, < > for a decision and / / for input/output — and indent a line under a decision to add a labelled side-branch. The chart is laid out and connected automatically; pick a colour and export a PNG or PDF. No dragging boxes around, all in your browser.
v1.32.0 15 June 2026 Business Model Canvas
New tool: map your business on a one-page canvas
NewBusiness Model Canvas. Sketch out your whole business on the classic nine-block canvas — key partners, activities, resources, value propositions, customer relationships, channels, segments, costs and revenue — each block editable with a prompt to get you started. Switch to a Lean Canvas for an early-stage startup view (problem, solution, unfair advantage and more); each keeps its own content. Export the finished canvas as a PNG or PDF. Saved on your device.
v1.31.0 15 June 2026 Timesheet calculator
New tool: add up the week's hours and pay
NewTimesheet calculator. Enter the start time, end time and break for each day of the week and get the hours worked per day, the weekly total, and — from an hourly rate — your pay, split into regular and overtime once you pass a weekly threshold. It handles overnight shifts, and you can export the timesheet as a CSV or a printable PDF. Everything is worked out and saved on your device.
v1.30.0 15 June 2026 Quote generator
New tool: send a professional quote or estimate
NewQuote generator. A companion to the invoice tool for the start of a job: add your logo and details, the client, dated line items with a tax rate and discount, and a “valid until” date, and a clean Quote or Estimate builds in a live A4 preview. Export a print-ready PDF or send it to your printer. Your business profile is saved on your device, so the next quote starts where you left off.
v1.29.0 15 June 2026 Gantt chart
New tool: turn a task list into a project timeline
NewGantt chart. List your project tasks with a start date, end date and how far along each one is, and get a clean timeline of bars across the weeks — with month labels, a “today” marker and a progress fill on each bar. Pick a colour, then export the chart as a PNG or PDF. The layout is worked out for you and your tasks are saved on your device.
v1.28.0 15 June 2026 Analytics
Anonymous usage analytics on the website
ImprovedPrivacy-respecting analytics (website only). The hosted site now uses Google Analytics to count anonymous, aggregate usage — page views and which tools get opened — so we can see what's useful and what to build next. It never sees your files or their contents; everything you create is still processed entirely on your device. The downloadable offline copy has no analytics whatsoever: that build is stripped of the script and continues to make zero network requests.
v1.27.0 15 June 2026 Event countdown
New tool: count down to any big day
NewEvent countdown. Name an event and pick a date and time, and watch a big live timer tick down the days, hours, minutes and seconds — with a one-tap fullscreen mode for a screen everyone can watch. Handy presets jump to New Year or a week or month ahead, and a share link lets you send the countdown to someone else. It runs entirely in your browser and remembers your last countdown.
v1.26.0 15 June 2026 Time zone planner
New tool: find a good meeting time across the world
NewTime zone planner. Add the cities you work with and see the time in each one side by side, with a 24-hour strip per zone that shades working hours (9–17) so overlapping slots line up vertically — making it easy to pick a meeting time everyone can make. Click any hour to set it, jump back to “now”, or choose a date. It uses the time-zone data built into your browser, so it handles daylight saving correctly and works entirely offline.
v1.25.0 15 June 2026 Business card maker
Business card maker redesigned: a template gallery and a three-panel editor
ImprovedPick a look, then make it yours. The Business card maker now opens as a three-panel studio — your details on the left, a stacked preview of the front and back in the middle (no longer side by side), and a design panel on the right with a gallery of 14 ready-made templates. Choose one and its layout and colour scheme apply at once; the colour pickers and accent swatches stay there to fine-tune. Logo upload and the print-ready PDF / PNG export are unchanged.
v1.24.0 15 June 2026 "New" pills
Freshly-added tools now wear a "New" pill for their first month
ImprovedSpot what's new at a glance. Every newly-added tool now shows a small New pill next to its name — in the menu, in search, and in the tool header — for 30 days after it lands, then it fades away on its own. Right now that's the Org chart maker, Image converter, EXIF viewer, Colour palette, Kanban board and Pomodoro timer.
v1.23.0 14 June 2026 Org chart maker
New tool: build an organisation chart from a simple outline
NewOrg chart maker. Type an indented outline — one person per line, indentation showing who reports to whom, with an optional role after a dash — and watch a tidy top-down organisation chart build live. Set the box and accent colours, then export a crisp PNG or a PDF. No dragging boxes around: the layout is worked out for you, entirely in your browser.
v1.22.0 14 June 2026 Image converter
New tool: convert images between PNG, JPG and WebP
NewImage converter. Drop in one image or a whole batch and convert them between PNG, JPG and WebP, with a quality slider and optional resizing (fit within a size, or scale by percentage). Each row shows the new file size and how much smaller it got. Download files one at a time, or grab them all as a ZIP. Everything is processed on your device — nothing is uploaded.
v1.21.0 14 June 2026 EXIF viewer & stripper
New tool: see and remove the hidden metadata in your photos
NewEXIF viewer & stripper. Drop in a JPEG to see the metadata it carries — camera make and model, lens, exposure, aperture, ISO, focal length and the date it was taken — read entirely on your device. If the photo contains GPS coordinates, you're warned clearly, since that reveals where it was taken. One click downloads a clean copy with all metadata removed, ready to share safely. A privacy tool that never uploads your image.
v1.20.0 14 June 2026 Colour palette generator
New tool: generate colour palettes and pull them from images
NewColour palette generator. Pick a base colour and build a harmonious palette — complementary, analogous, triadic, tetradic, split-complementary or monochromatic — with a tints-and-shades strip alongside. Or upload an image and pull out its most common colours, all on your device. Click any swatch to copy its HEX, and copy the whole palette as CSS variables or JSON, or export it as a PNG swatch sheet.
v1.19.0 14 June 2026 Kanban board
New tool: a drag-and-drop Kanban board
NewKanban board. A Trello-style board for organising work into columns of cards. Drag cards within a column to reorder them or across columns to change status, rename columns and cards inline, and add or delete either. The board saves on your device as you go, and you can export the whole thing to a JSON file and import it back to restore it or move it to another device. Fully offline.
v1.18.0 14 June 2026 Pomodoro & tasks
New tool: a focus timer with a saved task list
NewPomodoro & tasks. A focus timer that cycles through work, short-break and long-break sessions with a depleting ring, a tomato count for the day, and a gentle chime when each session ends (with an optional desktop alert). Set your own session lengths and long-break interval, auto-start the next session, and keep a simple saved task list alongside — add tasks, tick them off, clear completed, and pick one to focus on. The timer keeps ticking while you use other tools, and everything stays on your device.
v1.17.0 14 June 2026 Resume builder rebuilt
Resume builder: drag-and-drop sections, a design panel, visual templates and multiple saved resumes
NewSection manager. Your resume is now built from sections you can drag to reorder, show/hide, and move between a sidebar and the main column. Add sections for Projects, Languages, Certifications, Awards, Publications, Volunteering and References, or create your own custom sections.
NewDesign panel. Choose primary, text and background colours, a font, font size and line spacing — all applied live to the preview.
NewVisual templates. Pick a layout from preview cards — Classic, Modern, Sidebar, Minimal or Elegant.
NewMultiple saved resumes & JSON. Keep several named resumes in your browser and switch between them, with a visible autosave indicator. Download your resume as a JSON file and upload it back to restore or move it to another device.
ImprovedSettings, export and data controls moved into a dedicated right-hand sidebar; the left side is now a clean content form. Existing resumes are upgraded automatically.
v1.16.0 14 June 2026 Business card maker
New tool: design a business card and export it for print
NewBusiness card maker. Design a standard 3.5″×2″ business card — front and back — with your name, title, company, logo and contact details. Choose from three templates (Minimal, Centered and Accent) and your own background, text and accent colours, all on a live preview of both sides. Export a print-ready two-page PDF (one side per page) or a PNG of either side. Runs entirely in your browser and autosaves your design.
v1.15.0 14 June 2026 Resume builder
New tool: build a one-page resume and export a PDF
NewResume / CV builder. Fill in your details — contact, summary, experience, education and skills — and watch a clean one-page resume build live on an A4 preview. Add and remove roles and qualifications, choose from three templates (Classic, Modern and a two-column Sidebar) and an accent colour, then export a print-ready PDF. Your whole resume autosaves on your device; nothing is uploaded.
v1.14.0 14 June 2026 Unit & date calculator
New tool: convert units and do date maths
NewUnit & date calculator. Two calculators in one. Units converts length, weight, temperature, area, volume, speed, digital storage and time between any two units, with a one-tap swap and a full table showing the value in every unit at once. Dates works out the difference between two dates — total days, a years/months/days breakdown, weeks and business days — and adds or subtracts days, weeks, months or years from a date. Pure maths, no libraries, entirely offline.
v1.13.0 14 June 2026 Barcode generator
New tool: generate retail and product barcodes
NewBarcode generator. A companion to the QR code generator: pick a symbology — Code 128, EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, Code 39, ITF-14, MSI, Pharmacode or Codabar — type your data, and see a live barcode with a clear note if the value isn't valid for that type. Adjust bar width, height, text, colours and margins, then export a crisp PNG or a scalable SVG. Rendered with JsBarcode entirely in your browser.
v1.12.0 14 June 2026 Markdown editor
New tool: a Markdown editor with live preview
NewMarkdown editor. Write Markdown on the left and watch it render live on the right, with a formatting toolbar for headings, bold/italic, lists, quotes, links, images, code blocks and tables. A running word, character and reading-time count sits in the footer, and you can switch between split, editor-only and preview-only views. Export your document as a print-ready PDF, a standalone .html file, or the raw .md. Rendered with marked and sanitised with DOMPurify — entirely in your browser, and it autosaves on your device.
v1.11.1 14 June 2026 Fixes
Slides opens to the editor again, plus Chart maker axis fixes
FixedSlides opened straight into a blank present screen. The fullscreen present overlay was showing on top of the editor as soon as you opened the tool, leaving a black screen. The editor now shows correctly, and the slide canvas is usable again.
FixedSlides — present mode and the resize grip. Pressing Delete or Backspace while presenting no longer removes a block from your deck, and the corner resize handle is no longer clipped, so it's easier to grab.
FixedChart maker — “Start axis at 0” and gridlines. The axis-zero toggle now works for horizontal bar charts, and the gridlines toggle now applies to radar and polar-area charts. Switching to a scatter chart with non-numeric labels now shows a hint instead of a silently blank chart.
v1.11.0 14 June 2026 Slides
New tool: build a presentation and export it to PDF or editable .pptx
NewSlides — a presentation builder. The third piece of the office set joins the word processor and spreadsheet. Build a deck of 16:9 slides with text, image and shape blocks you can drag, resize and edit straight on the canvas; reorder slides in the side rail; pick from five themes; and add per-slide speaker notes. Present it fullscreen with arrow-key navigation, then export the whole deck to a PDF (one slide per page) or to an editable .pptx you can keep working on in PowerPoint, Keynote or Google Slides. Your deck autosaves on your own device, and like everything here the .pptx is generated entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded.
v1.10.0 14 June 2026 Chart maker
New tool: turn your data into a chart and export a PNG
NewChart maker. Type or paste your data into a small editable grid (or drop in a CSV/TSV), pick a chart type — bar, horizontal bar, line, area, pie, doughnut, radar, polar area or scatter — and watch it render live. Choose a colour palette, add a title, move or hide the legend, toggle gridlines, and export a clean PNG on a white or transparent background. Powered by the new on-device Chart.js engine, so your data never leaves your browser.
v1.9.0 14 June 2026 Invoice generator
New tool: build a branded invoice and export it as a PDF
NewInvoice generator. A new Business tool that turns a simple form into a clean, professional invoice. Add your logo and business details, a bill-to client, dated line items with quantities and unit prices, and the totals — subtotal, tax and a percentage discount — are calculated for you as you type. A live A4 preview shows exactly what you'll get, and a single click exports a print-ready PDF (or sends it straight to your printer). Your business profile and last invoice are saved on your own device, so the next invoice starts where you left off. Currency is symbol-only — like everything here, it runs fully offline with no cloud lookups.
v1.8.3 13 June 2026 Speech to Text
Speech to Text: live browser dictation, plus a fix for on-device transcription
NewLive dictation engine. Speech to Text now has two engines you can switch between: the private on-device Whisper model (record or upload audio — nothing leaves your device), and a new browser live dictation mode that turns your speech into text as you talk using your browser's built-in recogniser. Live dictation is instant with no download, but in Chrome/Edge it sends your microphone audio to the browser maker's speech service — so it's clearly labelled, and the on-device engine stays the default for privacy.
FixedOn-device transcription now loads. The Whisper engine could fail to start with an ONNX Runtime “Missing required scale” error while preparing the quantized model. It now loads reliably, and falls back to the full-precision model if a session still won't create.
v1.8.2 13 June 2026 Navigation
A roomier tools menu — categories on the left, tools on the right
ImprovedThe tools menu is now a popup with a category sidebar. The old drop-down laid every category out across the top, which was running out of room as the toolkit grows. Categories now sit in a slim sidebar on the left, and the tools for the selected category stack on the right — so there's room for many more tools without the menu losing its shape.
Improved“All tools” is now just “Tools”. The header button that opens the menu has a shorter, cleaner label.
v1.8.1 13 June 2026 Navigation
A flatter, clearer menu — categories are now their own tabs
ImprovedEvery category is its own tab. The catch-all Utilities tab has been dissolved — Generators, Text & data, Color & design, Business, Diagrams and the rest are now top-level tabs in the menu, so you reach them in one click instead of two.
ImprovedImage tools is now “Image & Video”. The Scene extractor (pull still frames from a video) now lives here, under a dedicated Video heading alongside the image tools.
ImprovedNew “Simulators” category. The Typing tutor has moved out of Productivity into its own Simulators tab — a better home for interactive practice tools.
v1.8.0 13 June 2026 Speech to Text
New tool: Speech to Text
NewSpeech to Text. Record from your microphone or drop in an audio file (MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG, WebM…) and get a transcript — with optional timestamps, automatic language detection, and a translate-to-English option. Transcription runs on your device using OpenAI's Whisper model (via transformers.js); your audio is never uploaded. This is the one Caspian Office tool that uses an AI model — the model (~41–77 MB) downloads once from the Hugging Face CDN on first use, then is cached in your browser so later transcriptions work offline.
v1.7.0 13 June 2026 Tools
New Productivity tool: Timers
NewTimers. Set one or more countdown timers — pick a preset (1 min to 1 hour) or enter a custom hours / minutes / seconds — and Caspian Office sounds an alarm when the time is up. The alarm tone is generated right in your browser with the Web Audio API, so it works fully offline (even from a file on disk, with no sound file to download). Timers keep accurate time while the tab is in the background, survive a page refresh, and can optionally raise a desktop notification.
v1.6.8 12 June 2026 Security
Imported Word documents are now sanitized before they're shown
ImprovedSafer Word import. When you open a .docx in Word to PDF or the Word processor, its converted HTML now runs through DOMPurify before it's placed on the page, stripping any scripts or event handlers a hand-crafted document might carry. Everything still runs 100% in your browser.
FixedOCR filenames render safely. The file panel in the OCR tool now shows your filename as plain text, so an unusual name can't be interpreted as markup.
v1.6.7 12 June 2026 Updates
Updates no longer reports a stale version after a new release
FixedThe app fully refreshes on update. After a new release, the Updates page could show the old version number (and keep offering an update you'd already taken) because the browser reloaded the page shell but kept an older cached copy of the app's code. The service worker now always fetches the latest files when it updates, and the shell is served with revalidation, so every part of the app moves to the new version together.
v1.6.6 12 June 2026 Background remover
Breathing room above the Background remover buttons
FixedSpacing in the Background remover. The Remove background and Download PNG buttons sat flush against the image preview with no gap. They now have proper spacing below the canvas, matching the rest of the tool's layout.
v1.6.5 12 June 2026 OCR
OCR works again on today's browsers
FixedOCR engine now loads on modern browsers. The image/PDF→text tool failed with an "unknown error" on current Chrome, Edge and Firefox because the relaxed-SIMD engine variant they request was missing from the bundle. That core is now included (and all engine files re-aligned to one version), so OCR loads and recognises text again — fully offline, as before.
v1.6.4 12 June 2026 Download
The offline copy can grab a new version in one click
FixedOne-click update from the offline copy. When the downloaded single-file app finds a newer release, Get the latest version now downloads the new build straight to your device, instead of just opening the website.
v1.6.3 12 June 2026 Download
The Download button now saves the file to your device
FixedDownload saves, not opens. Clicking Download now saves the offline single-file app to your device with a sensible filename, instead of opening it in the browser — and it always points at the current version instead of an old, missing file.
v1.6.2 12 June 2026 Offline
The Poppins font is now bundled in — truly 100% offline
ImprovedNo Google Fonts. The Poppins typeface is now embedded directly in the app instead of loaded from Google's servers — so the interface looks identical with no internet, the page needs nothing from a third party to load, and there's one less thing that can slow down or block the first paint.
v1.6.1 12 June 2026 Offline
The QR code generator now works fully offline
FixedNo more CDN. The QR code tool no longer reaches out to an external CDN — it now uses the QR engine bundled with the app, so it works with no internet, just like every other tool.
v1.6.0 12 June 2026 PDF engine
PDF tools upgraded to pdf.js 6 — and now fully offline
ImprovedNewer PDF engine. Every PDF tool now runs on Mozilla's pdf.js 6 (up from 3.11), the current maintained release — for sharper rendering and the latest fixes.
FixedPDFs work fully offline. The pdf.js worker is now bundled with the app instead of fetched from a CDN, so every PDF tool works with no internet — in the installed app and the single-file download alike.
v1.5.0 12 June 2026 Updates
"Update now" really updates your app — and every bundled library is tracked
FixedOne-click update that works. "Update now" on the Updates page now refreshes your installed app for real — it pulls the latest version, clears the old cached files and reloads, instead of just opening a download link.
FixedAlways-current download. The offline single-file download is now auto-compiled from the live app on every release, so its link never points at a missing file again.
ImprovedReliable update checks. "Check now" can no longer get stuck spinning, and the app quietly checks for a newer version on launch.
ImprovedEvery library tracked. The Updates page now lists all eight of the open-source libraries that power the tools — each with a link to its source — and flags any that have fallen behind their latest release. (Before, only five were shown.)
FixedSecurity refresh. Updated the spreadsheet engine (SheetJS xlsx → 0.20.3) and the HTML-to-PDF engine (html2pdf.js → 0.14.0) to their latest secure releases.
v1.4.8 12 June 2026 Mobile
A simpler tools menu on mobile
ImprovedOne simple list on phones. The mobile tools menu is now a single A→Z list of every tool with a search box at the top — no more category tabs to swipe through. Just scroll or search and tap.
v1.4.7 11 June 2026 UX
Clean, natural URLs — like a normal website
ImprovedTidy tool links. Each tool now lives at a clean address like office.caspiantools.com/tool/shade-generator/ — no more ?tool= query strings. Share or bookmark it and you'll land straight in the tool.
ImprovedNamed pages too. About, Changelog and Updates now have their own /about, /changelog and /updates links.
v1.4.6 11 June 2026 UX
Shareable links — the address bar now follows the tool you're on
FixedLinkable tool URLs. Opening a tool now updates the address bar, so you can bookmark or share a direct link to any tool and land straight back on it after a refresh.
ImprovedBack & forward buttons work. Your browser's back/forward buttons now move between the tools and pages you've visited, just like a normal website.
v1.4.5 11 June 2026 Design
A cleaner, more professional look
ImprovedCrisp SVG icons everywhere. Emoji in buttons, tabs and instructions are now sharp, consistent line icons that render identically on every device.
ImprovedNew Poppins typeface. The whole interface now uses Poppins for a friendlier, more modern feel.
NewBack-to-top button. A floating button appears as you scroll long tool pages — tap it to jump straight back to the top.
v1.4.4 11 June 2026 UX
Updates bell in the header — never miss a new version
ImprovedHeader notification bell. A bell icon now sits in the header and opens the Updates page in one click. When a newer version is available it shows a gentle pulsing dot — so you no longer have to hunt for the link down in the footer.
v1.4.3 11 June 2026 Tools
New tool — Word processor with DOCX, PDF, HTML & text export
NewWord processor. Write on a real A4 page with margins, paragraph styles, headings, fonts, sizes, colour, alignment and lists — a proper document editor that runs entirely in your browser.
NewTrue .docx export. Save your document as a real Word file that opens in Microsoft Word and LibreOffice — built right here in the browser, no upload. Also export to PDF, a self-contained HTML page, or plain text.
NewImport .docx. Open an existing Word document to keep editing. Note: DOCX export covers text formatting (headings, bold/italic/underline, colour, fonts, alignment, quotes and lists) but not images, tables, or live auto-numbering.
v1.4.2 11 June 2026 Mobile
Mobile-friendly — bottom-drawer menu and responsive layout
ImprovedBottom-drawer menu. On phones the "All tools" menu slides up from the bottom as a native-feeling drawer, with horizontally scrollable category tabs and a built-in search box.
ImprovedResponsive layout. A compact header (icon-only download), tighter spacing, and a single/two-column tool grid make everything comfortable to use on small screens.
v1.4.1 7 June 2026 Tools
Three more tools — Text to Speech, SWOT, Background remover
NewText to speech. Read any text aloud using your device's built-in voices (rate / pitch / volume). 100% local, no AI, no upload.
NewSWOT analysis. A manual 4-quadrant SWOT builder with autosave and PNG / PDF export.
NewBackground remover. Erase a photo's background to a transparent PNG. Runs in your browser — your image never leaves your device; the model downloads once from a CDN.
v1.4.0 7 June 2026 Major
Multi-file web app + ~19 new tools — with a downloadable lite single file
NewMulti-file web app. Caspian Office is now a fast, installable multi-file site (code-split tools, offline service worker) at office.caspiantools.com — the original single HTML stays as a downloadable lite copy.
NewImage & utility tools. Compress / resize / crop image, QR code, password generator, Base64, Lorem Ipsum, text comparer, colour picker, shade generator, Eisenhower matrix, scene extractor.
NewCreative & diagram tools. Image editor, favicon maker, logo creator, mind map, user-flow, rich text editor, typing tutor.
NewReliable converters (no AI). CSV ↔ JSON, Excel (SheetJS) → CSV/JSON/PDF, Word → PDF (mammoth), and OCR image/PDF → text (tesseract.js, fully offline).
ChangedNo AI. Removed all AI/LLM features; conversions that can't be done reliably in-browser were dropped rather than faked.
v1.3.0 5 June 2026 Updates
Updates system — header notification, manifest check, automated server-side rebuild pipeline
New Updates page. A dedicated section that compares your bundled libraries (pdf.js, pdf-lib, JSZip, html2pdf, qrcode-generator) against the latest released versions. Shows a clean comparison table with Current / Outdated badges, the last-check timestamp, and a one-click Download v1.X.Y button when something newer exists.
New Header notification dot. A small pulsing red dot appears next to the Updates link in the header whenever a newer version of Caspian Office is detected. Subtle when nothing's new, hard to miss when something is.
New Version manifest check. Caspian Office now reads a small JSON file hosted at caspiantools.com/caspian-office/versions.json to learn about new releases. A single GET request, at most once every 24 hours, with a hard 8-second timeout — fully opt-out via the toggle on the Updates page.
New Server-side rebuild pipeline. A separate Node.js build script (build.mjs) runs on caspiantools.com to automatically re-pull the latest library versions from npm, re-bundle the HTML, bump the version, and publish a fresh download. You only download the rebuilt file — no client-side regeneration risk.
Improved About page now transparently discloses the opt-in update check rather than claiming an unconditional "never phones home" guarantee. Honest defaults beat clever marketing.
v1.2.2 5 June 2026 Offline
Now genuinely offline — every library is bundled into the file
New All five libraries are now inlined directly into the HTML file: pdf.js (incl. its worker), pdf-lib, JSZip, html2pdf, and the QR generator. Save this file once, and it runs fully offline — no CDN dependency, no internet required, ever. Perfect for air-gapped corporate machines or field laptops.
Filename Downloaded HTML file is now properly named Caspian Office v1.2.2.html with the version number baked in, instead of the legacy pdf-toolkit.html.
Improved The "library loading" spinner from v1.2.1 is now mostly cosmetic — since libraries are inlined and parsed synchronously with the page, all tools are usable the moment the page renders. The spinner remains as a safety net in case bundling fails somehow.
Trade-off File size went from ~600 KB to about 3.5 MB to carry the libraries. Trade-off accepted: download once, use forever — and the privacy guarantee gets stronger, because the file no longer makes any network requests on first run.
v1.2.1 5 June 2026 Patch
Library loading is no longer a dead-end
Fix QR code generator no longer shows a fire-and-forget "library still loading" toast and then give up. Instead, the preview area now shows a proper animated spinner, an elapsed-time counter, a 20-second timeout window, and the moment the library finishes loading the QR auto-renders. If the library genuinely fails (CDN down, network blocked), a clear error appears with a Try again button that re-attempts the script load.
Fix HTML to PDF had the same dead-end pattern on its Convert button. It now waits inline with a spinner directly inside the button if the library is still streaming, and only fails after a real timeout.
Improved Both tools now report "Library failed to load — check your connection" as a specific, actionable error, rather than a generic "try again" hand-wave.
v1.2.0 5 June 2026 Expand
Utilities section launches — starting with a QR code generator
New Utilities is now a third top-level section in the mega menu, sitting alongside PDF tools and Image tools. First category inside: Generators.
New QR code generator. Seven content types — plain text, URL, email, phone, SMS, WiFi credentials, and vCard contact cards. Customizable size (200–1024 px), margin, error correction (L/M/Q/H), and foreground / background colour with a palette plus full picker. Download as PNG or SVG, or copy directly to clipboard.
Improved QR code is cross-listed in Image tools too — the output is an image, so it shows up wherever you'd reasonably look for it.
v1.1.0 5 June 2026 Discovery
Find tools faster — tabs, search, and more images
New Tabbed mega menu. All tools are now organised under two top-level tabs — PDF tools and Image tools. Each tab shows its categories and a live count badge.
New Header search. Type the name of any tool to find it instantly. Ranked, highlighted results. Press / to focus from anywhere, arrow keys to navigate, Enter to open.
Improved Tools can now live in multiple categories. PDF to JPG, JPG to PDF, and Scan to PDF now appear under both their primary category and Image tools, so you can find them whichever way you're thinking.
New Resize image. Three modes (preset, exact pixels, percent slider), nine common presets covering social, print, and email use cases, optional fit-inside-box constraint, format conversion.
New Crop image. Interactive crop with 8 handles, drag to move, eight aspect-ratio presets (square, portrait, landscape, photo, widescreen, story, ID photo). Rule-of-thirds grid built in.
v1.0.0 5 June 2026 Launch
Caspian Office is born
Rebrand Renamed from PDF Toolkit to Caspian Office — broader scope, same private-by-design philosophy. New brand mark, new tagline, updated About page.
New Changelog page with full version history and semantic versioning (currently v1.0.0). Reachable from the header.
New Images category added to the mega menu — first non-PDF tools. Starting with Compress Image; more image tools coming next.
Improved Honest cleanup of the coming soon list: tools that genuinely can't be done client-side (Word/PowerPoint conversion, password-encryption, AI features) are being re-evaluated rather than left as broken promises.
v0.9.0 5 June 2026
Major editing & collaboration tools
New Edit PDF — add text, rectangles, and highlights anywhere on a PDF, with six colours and five sizes. Keyboard shortcuts (V/T/R/H, Ctrl+Z, Delete) for fast work.
New Compare PDF — drop two PDFs and see what changed. Side-by-side, unified diff, and changes-only views. Added/removed/unchanged line counts.
New Redact PDF — click and drag to draw permanent black redaction boxes. Per-page counters, undo history, keyboard delete, touch support.
New HTML to PDF — paste or upload HTML and convert with full page-size, orientation, margin, and quality control. Four professional samples included (invoice, letter, report, certificate).
New Scan to PDF — capture pages with your camera. Three filters (Color, B&W, Sharpen), drag-to-reorder, multi-page PDF output.
v0.8.0 5 June 2026
Forms and About page
New PDF Forms — fill text fields, checkboxes, radio buttons, and dropdowns in any fillable PDF. Live preview, save with editable fields or flatten permanently.

New Crop PDF — drag a box on the first page, applied proportionally to every page via CropBox + MediaBox.
v0.6.0 1 June 2026
Edit tools
New Rotate PDF, Add page numbers, and Add watermark. Page numbers with full position and format control; watermark with adjustable angle, size, and opacity.
v0.5.0 31 May 2026

New PDF to JPG — export each page as a JPG image at your chosen resolution.
v0.4.0 30 May 2026
Organize PDF foundation
New Split, Merge, Remove pages, Extract pages, and Organize PDF. The five core page-management tools.
v0.1.0 29 May 2026
First commit
New Initial single-file toolkit architecture, mega menu, category system, status toast, and the very first Split PDF tool. The PDO certificate generator that started it all is now part of the lineage.
By CaspianTools

Built for the community.

Caspian Office is a free, private, browser-based suite of everyday office tools. No uploads, no accounts, no ads. Your files never leave your computer.

Visit CaspianTools.com

Install it on your device

Add Caspian Office to your phone or desktop for one-tap, full-screen, offline access — no app store, no account. On iPhone & iPad, we'll show you the two-tap "Add to Home Screen" steps.

Why this exists

Working with PDFs shouldn't mean uploading your private documents to a stranger's server. Yet that's how almost every "free" online PDF tool works — your file is uploaded, processed on someone else's machine, and you're asked to trust that it's deleted afterwards. Contracts, IDs, medical reports, work documents, family paperwork — none of that belongs on a third-party server you don't control.

We built Caspian Office on a different premise: your file should never leave your computer. Every tool you see here runs entirely inside your web browser, on your device. There is no server doing the work behind the scenes. There is no account to create. There is no usage limit. You can disconnect from the internet after this page has loaded and almost everything will still keep working. The exceptions are both in Speech to Text: its private on-device model is downloaded once from a CDN on first use (then cached, and it transcribes offline after that), and its optional browser live dictation mode uses your browser's own speech service, which sends that microphone audio to the browser maker. Every other tool — and Speech to Text's default on-device mode — keeps your data on your machine.

Two honest caveats. First, the hosted website at caspianoffice.io can use Google Analytics to count anonymous, aggregate usage (page views and which tools are opened) so we know what to improve — but it's off until you opt in via the cookie banner, and even then it never receives your files or their contents. The downloadable offline copy contains no analytics at all: that build is stripped of this script and still makes zero network requests. Our Privacy Policy has the full picture. Second, if you leave the "Check for updates on launch" toggle enabled on the Updates page (it's on by default), Caspian Office sends a single GET request to caspiantools.com/caspian-office/versions.json at most once every 24 hours, to see whether a newer version exists. That request carries no file contents and no identifiers. Turn it off in the Updates page if you'd rather check manually.

What you get

Private by design

Your files are processed in your browser. Nothing is uploaded. We literally cannot see your files — the website's analytics only count anonymous page views, never your documents.

Free, forever

No subscription, no premium tier, no watermarks on the output, no daily file limits. The tools are open and available to anyone who needs them.

Fast & offline-capable

Once the page is loaded, the toolkit runs offline (the only exception is the one-time download of the Speech to Text AI model). No round-trips to a server means everything happens at the speed of your own machine.

For everyone

Works on any modern browser, on any device — Windows, Mac, Linux, phone, tablet. No installation. No sign-up.

Our promise to the community

We made this because we needed it ourselves. We're a small independent studio, and we believe everyone — students, freelancers, small business owners, parents, healthcare workers, teachers, anyone — deserves access to honest, simple tools that respect their privacy. Not every problem needs a SaaS subscription. Some things should just work.

  • We will never charge you to use the tools on this page.
  • We will never upload your files anywhere. They stay on your device.
  • We will never show you ads, and we will never sell your data or your files.
  • We will keep adding tools as long as they're useful to the community.
  • We explain every tool right on the page — what it does, how to use it, and answers to common questions.

How it works under the hood

Caspian Office is built on a small set of trusted open-source libraries that run entirely in your browser. We didn't reinvent the wheel — we put a friendly, focused interface on top of mature, battle-tested code so anyone can use it without needing to understand what's under the hood.

pdf.js 6.0.227 Built by Mozilla. Renders every page thumbnail you see, and reads the structure of PDFs you open.
pdf-lib 1.17.1 Creates, edits, merges, splits, watermarks and rotates PDFs — directly in JavaScript, with no native dependencies.
JSZip 3.10.1 Bundles multiple output files (like split pages or exported images) into a single downloadable zip archive.
html2pdf.js 0.14.0 Turns on-screen documents — like the word processor and SWOT pages — into downloadable PDFs.
mammoth 1.12.0 Reads Microsoft Word .docx files and converts them to clean, editable content.
xlsx (SheetJS) 0.20.3 Opens and writes Excel spreadsheets entirely in the browser, powering the spreadsheet tools.
tesseract.js 7.0.0 On-device OCR (English, Turkish, German, French & Spanish) — extracts text from images and scans without anything leaving your device.
transformers.js 4.2.0 Runs OpenAI's Whisper speech-recognition model on your own device for the Speech to Text tool. The model downloads once, then transcribes locally — your audio is never uploaded.
qrcode-generator 1.4.4 Generates QR codes locally for links, text and contact details.
DOMPurify 3.4.9 Sanitizes the HTML from imported Word documents before it's rendered, stripping any unsafe scripts or handlers.
Chart.js 4.5.1 Draws the bar, line, pie, radar and scatter charts in the Chart maker — rendered to a canvas entirely in your browser.
PptxGenJS 4.0.1 Writes the editable PowerPoint .pptx files exported from the Slides tool, assembling the Office Open XML package locally with JSZip.
marked 18.0.5 Parses Markdown into HTML for the Markdown editor's live preview and its PDF/HTML exports — rendered locally, then sanitised with DOMPurify.
JsBarcode 3.12.3 Draws the retail and product barcodes (Code 128, EAN, UPC, Code 39 and more) in the Barcode generator, as PNG or scalable SVG.
gifenc 1.0.3 Encodes animated GIFs entirely in the browser — used by the Video to GIF tool to turn frames captured from your local video into a looping GIF.
heic2any 0.0.4 Decodes Apple HEIC/HEIF photos (libheif compiled to WebAssembly) so the Image converter can turn iPhone pictures into JPG, PNG or WebP — entirely on your device.

These libraries are bundled with the app and cached by your browser, so the toolkit keeps working offline after your first visit. You can see the exact version of each — and whether a newer release is available upstream — on the Updates page.

Roadmap

Tools we plan to add next. Caspian Office stays 100% client-side — everything runs on your own device, and the rare tool that needs an AI model (like Speech to Text) runs that model locally too, never on a server. This list only includes things we can build reliably to run entirely in your browser.

    Who's behind it

Caspian Office is built and maintained by CaspianTools, an independent software studio focused on practical, privacy-respecting tools for everyday digital work. We make developer utilities, productivity software, and small focused apps like this one. Three principles guide what we build: it should be private by design, useful by default, and free wherever possible.

If Caspian Office saves you a few minutes, that's all the thanks we need. If you'd like to support what we do, the most meaningful thing you can do is share it with someone who'd find it useful — a friend, a colleague, a parent, a teacher. Word of mouth is how community tools survive.

    Privacy Policy

Caspian Office is built so your files never have to leave your device. This page explains, plainly and honestly, exactly what does and doesn't happen with your data.

    Last updated: 24 June 2026

Your files stay on your device

Every tool on Caspian Office runs entirely inside your web browser, on your own computer or phone. When you open a PDF, image or document, it is read and processed locally — it is never uploaded to us or to anyone else. We operate no server that receives your files, and we have no way to see their contents. After this page has loaded you can disconnect from the internet and almost everything keeps working.

What is stored on your device

To remember your preferences and the work you have in progress, some tools save data in your browser's local storage — for example your theme choice, recent settings, and content you're actively editing (such as notes, a to-do list, or a diagram). This data lives only in your browser, on your device. We never receive it. You can clear it at any time from your browser's site-data settings, or by using each browser's "clear browsing data" feature for this site.

Analytics & cookies (hosted website only)

The hosted website at caspianoffice.io can use Google Analytics to count anonymous, aggregate usage — page views and which tools are opened — so we know what to improve. Analytics is off until you opt in: no analytics cookies are set unless you choose Accept on the cookie banner. If you accept, Google Analytics sets cookies (typically _ga and _ga_<id>) to measure visits, and we enable IP anonymisation. Analytics never receives your files or their contents.

The downloadable offline copy of Caspian Office contains no analytics at all — that build is stripped of this script and makes zero network requests.

The few times the browser does reach the network

    • Update check. If you leave the "Check for updates on launch" toggle on (it's on by default), Caspian Office sends a single GET to caspiantools.com/caspian-office/versions.json at most once every 24 hours to see whether a newer version exists. It carries no file contents and no identifiers. Turn it off on the Updates page to check manually.
    • Speech to Text. Its private, on-device model is downloaded once from a CDN on first use, then cached so it transcribes offline afterwards. Its optional browser live dictation mode uses your browser's own speech service, which sends that microphone audio to the browser maker — that mode is clearly labelled and entirely optional.
    • Web fonts in a few tools. The Image Editor and Slides tools can load optional fonts from Google Fonts; when used, your browser requests those font files from Google, which means Google sees the request and your IP address. Built-in, offline-safe fonts are always available as an alternative.

    What we never do

    • We never upload your files — they are processed on your device and stay there.
    • We never sell, rent or share your data, and there are no advertising trackers.
    • We never require an account — there is nothing to sign up for and no profile to build.

    Your rights & contact

Because we don't collect personal data or hold any account, there is nothing of yours for us to look up, export or delete on our side — your data is already entirely in your hands. You can withdraw analytics consent at any time using the controls above, and clear all locally stored data from your browser settings.
