A countdown timer you can run one or several of at once. When a timer reaches zero it sounds an alarm, flashes the tab title, and can raise a desktop notification. The alarm is generated in the browser with no sound file, so it runs entirely on your device and works offline.
How to use Timers
- Set a time — Pick a preset like 5 min or 25 min, or type your own hours, minutes and seconds. Add an optional label such as Tea or Pomodoro.
- Start the timer — Press Start timer (or just hit Enter) — the countdown begins immediately and appears as a card.
- Manage running timers — Pause, resume, reset, add a minute, or remove each timer from its card. Run as many at once as you like.
- Stop the alarm — When time's up the card pulses and the alarm rings. Use Stop alarm on the card, or Silence all to dismiss every finished timer.
Frequently asked questions
Does the alarm work offline?
Yes. The alarm tone is generated in the browser with the Web Audio API rather than playing a file, so it works offline and even from a local copy of the app.
Will the timer stay accurate if I switch tabs?
Yes. Each running timer stores an absolute end time and recalculates the remaining time from the clock on every tick, so it stays exact through background tabs, sleeps and refreshes.
Are my timers remembered after a refresh?
Yes. The timer list is saved in your browser, so a refresh restores your running timers.
Do I need to keep the tab open?
Yes. The alarm rings in your browser, so keep this tab open for it to sound when the time is up.
How do desktop notifications work?
Tick Desktop notification and your browser will ask permission. When a timer finishes you'll get a system notification as well as the in-tab alarm.
Tips
- Label each timer so you can tell several apart at a glance.
- Tap a preset to start a common time instantly without typing.
- Use +1 min to extend a running timer rather than starting over.
