A rich-text editor with formatting, case conversion, find & replace and live word and character counts, all in your browser. It autosaves your work locally as you type, so you can draft notes, posts or documents privately and pick up where you left off.
How to use Text editor
- Write or paste — Type directly into the editor or paste existing text, and give your document a title at the top.
- Format the text — Use the toolbar for bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, bullet and numbered lists, links, and the Aa case menu (Sentence, lower, UPPER, Capitalize, tOGGLE).
- Find & replace — Open find to jump between matches, tick Match case if needed, and replace one occurrence or all of them at once.
- Export your work — Copy the text, or download it as a .txt or .html file when you're done.
Frequently asked questions
Is my writing saved automatically?
Yes. The editor autosaves to your browser's local storage as you type, so your draft is still there when you return — and it stays on your device.
What can I export?
You can copy the text to the clipboard, or download it as a plain-text (.txt) file or an HTML (.html) file that preserves the formatting.
Does it have undo and redo?
Yes. Use the toolbar buttons or the usual Ctrl+Z and Ctrl+Y shortcuts to step back and forth through your edits.
Can I change the case of selected text?
Yes. The Aa menu converts your selection to Sentence case, lowercase, UPPERCASE, Capitalized Words or tOGGLE cASE.
Is anything uploaded?
No. The editor runs entirely in your browser, so your text never leaves your device.
Tips
- Use "Clear formatting" to strip styling out of pasted text before reformatting it your way.
- Tick Match case in find & replace when capitalisation matters.
- Download as .html to keep bold, lists and links; choose .txt for a clean, unformatted copy.
