What is the Zakat calculator?

A free, private calculator that works out the zakat (2.5%) due on your zakatable wealth — cash, gold, silver, business goods, investments and receivables, minus debts due — against the gold or silver nisab. You enter today's metal prices yourself (no live rates, by design), it saves on your device, and you can export a PNG statement or a CSV. It's an educational estimate, not a fatwa.

How to use Zakat calculator

  1. Set your currency and nisab — Pick your currency, choose the silver or gold nisab basis, and enter today's gold and silver price per gram so the nisab and your metals can be valued.
  2. Enter your zakatable assets — Fill in cash and bank, gold and silver (in grams), business and trade goods, investments, money owed to you, and any other zakatable assets.
  3. Add your deductions — Enter debts due now. These are subtracted to give your net zakatable wealth.
  4. Read the result — See your zakat due, whether you're above or below the nisab, a breakdown of the figures and a chart of your asset composition.
  5. Export your statement — Download a PNG statement or a CSV of every line for your records.

Frequently asked questions

Does it fetch live gold and silver prices?

No, by design. You enter today's gold and silver price per gram yourself — Caspian Office never fetches live rates, and nothing you enter is uploaded.

Should I use the gold or silver nisab?

You can choose either. Many scholars favour the silver nisab as the lower threshold so that more wealth reaches the poor. The tool defaults to silver (595 g) but lets you switch to gold (85 g).

How is the zakat amount worked out?

It totals your zakatable assets, subtracts debts due to get your net wealth, and if that net is above the nisab, applies the 2.5% rate.

Is this a fatwa or religious ruling?

No. It's an educational estimate. Zakat falls due on wealth held above the nisab for a full lunar year (hawl), and for mixed assets, business stock or complex debts you should consult a qualified scholar.

Can I keep a record of my calculation?

Yes. Your figures are saved on your device, and you can export a PNG statement or a CSV spreadsheet of every line.
