How to use Cooking Measurement Converter

Frequently asked questions
Which cup size does it use?
The US cup of 236.588 ml. Teaspoons, tablespoons and fluid ounces also follow the conventional US cooking values.
Why do I need to pick an ingredient?
Volume and weight only relate through density. A cup of flour weighs far less than a cup of honey, so the tool needs the ingredient's density to convert between millilitres and grams.
How accurate are the densities?
They are sensible averages for home cooking. Real ingredients vary with brand, humidity, sifting and how firmly they are packed, so treat weight conversions as close estimates.
Is my data sent anywhere?
No. All conversions happen locally in your browser, so your inputs never leave your device and the tool works offline.
Tips
- For baking, weigh dry ingredients where you can — grams are far more consistent than cups.
- Use the Custom density option for ingredients not listed, such as cocoa or icing sugar.
- Volume-to-volume and weight-to-weight conversions do not need an ingredient and stay exact.
