Statistics calculator

Paste a column of numbers for full descriptive statistics — mean, median, mode, sample & population spread, quartiles, IQR, outliers and skewness — with a histogram and box plot. Add a second column for correlation and a best-fit regression line. Runs entirely in your browser.

What is the Statistics calculator?

A descriptive-statistics calculator that runs entirely in your browser. Paste a column of numbers to get the mean, median and mode, sample and population spread, quartiles, IQR, outliers and skewness, with a histogram and box plot. Switch to two-variable mode and paste X and Y pairs to get correlation and a best-fit regression line. It's handy for quickly summarising a dataset without a spreadsheet, and your numbers never leave your device.

How to use Statistics calculator

  1. Paste your numbers — Type or paste your data into the box — one number per line, or separated by spaces, commas or tabs. Press Load sample to see an example.
  2. Read the statistics — The results update as you type, showing count, sum, mean, median, mode, min, max, range, standard deviation and variance (sample and population), standard error, Q1, Q3, IQR, skewness and any outliers.
  3. Switch to two variables (optional) — Click the Two variables (X, Y) mode button, then paste two numbers per line (X then Y) to also get the correlation, R squared and a linear regression best-fit line.
  4. View the charts — Switch between the histogram and box plot tabs; in two-variable mode you also get a scatter plot with the regression line. Adjust the histogram bins to change its detail.

Frequently asked questions

Are my numbers uploaded anywhere?

No. All the calculations and charts run entirely in your browser, so your data never leaves your device.

How do I separate the numbers?

Put one number per line, or separate them with spaces, commas or tabs — the tool reads any of these.

What's the difference between sample and population spread?

Use the sample figures when your numbers are a sample drawn from a larger group, and the population figures when they represent the whole group. The tool shows both so you can pick the right one.

How do I get correlation and a regression line?

Switch to the Two variables (X, Y) mode, then paste two numbers per line (X then Y) with at least two rows. It then shows the correlation r, R squared and a best-fit line on a scatter plot.

How are outliers found?

Outliers are values that fall well outside the middle of the data based on the interquartile range (IQR), and they're listed alongside the quartiles and skewness.
