How to use Continuous improvement board
- Capture an idea — Add a card for each improvement idea and fill in its owner, due date, impact, effort, and the problem and root cause.
- Work the board — Use the workflow board to move cards through columns, switching between Kaizen, PDCA and DMAIC layouts as suits your method.
- Prioritise on the matrix — Switch to the PICK impact/effort matrix to sort ideas into Possible, Implement, Challenge and Kill, or use ICE scoring to rank them.
- Export — Export your board to JSON or CSV for data, or PNG or PDF to share a snapshot.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to re-enter ideas for each view?
No. You capture each idea once, and the same cards appear across the workflow board, the PICK matrix and ICE scoring.
What's the difference between Kaizen, PDCA and DMAIC?
They're three Lean/Six Sigma workflows. The board lets you switch its columns between them so it matches the method your team uses.
How do PICK and ICE help me prioritise?
PICK plots each idea by impact versus effort to decide what to implement; ICE ranks ideas by Impact, Confidence and Ease so you can order your backlog.
What can I export?
JSON and CSV for the underlying data, plus PNG and PDF snapshots of the board.
Is my board uploaded?
No. The board is saved on your device and runs fully offline. Nothing is sent to a server.
Tips
- Record the problem and root cause on each card so the reason for the improvement isn't lost.
- Use the PICK matrix to spot quick wins — high impact with low effort.
- Assign an owner and due date to every card so improvements actually get done.
- Export CSV when you want to share progress in a spreadsheet or report.
