What is the SWOT analysis tool?

A four-quadrant matrix for mapping Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats — the classic framework for sizing up a business, project or decision. Add bullet points, edit them inline, then export the finished analysis. It runs entirely in your browser, so your notes stay on your device.

How to use SWOT analysis

  1. Name the analysis — Give your SWOT a title so the export is clearly labelled — for example the product, team or decision under review.
  2. Fill the four quadrants — Add bullet points to Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats. Strengths and Weaknesses are internal; Opportunities and Threats are external.
  3. Edit inline — Click any bullet to refine the wording, reorder your thinking, or remove points that no longer fit.
  4. Export — Save the matrix as a PNG image, a PDF, or plain text to share, print or paste into a report.

Frequently asked questions

What goes in each quadrant?

Strengths and Weaknesses are internal factors you control; Opportunities and Threats are external factors in the wider market or environment. Keep each bullet short and specific.

Which export formats are available?

You can export to PNG (an image of the matrix), PDF (ready to print), or plain text for pasting into documents and emails.

Is my analysis private?

Yes. Everything is built in your browser — your bullets and title aren't uploaded anywhere.

Can I edit points after adding them?

Yes. Every bullet is editable inline, so you can rework the wording as your thinking develops.
