Open Add watermark →What is the PDF watermark tool?
A free, private tool that stamps text across every page of a PDF — useful for marking documents CONFIDENTIAL, DRAFT or with your name. Adjust the angle, font size, opacity, colour and position, then download the watermarked file. The PDF is processed entirely in your browser, so it is never uploaded and it works offline.
How to use Add watermark
- Open a PDF — Drop a PDF onto the page or click to choose a file from your device.
- Type your watermark — Enter the text you want repeated on every page, such as CONFIDENTIAL or a draft label.
- Adjust the style — Set the font size, opacity, angle and colour, and choose a position — centre, top, bottom or diagonal.
- Save the result — Use the Save PDF button to download the watermarked file, with the mark applied to every page.
Frequently asked questions
Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is opened and watermarked entirely in your browser, so it never leaves your device — safe for sensitive documents.
Is the watermark added to every page?
Yes. The text you enter is applied to every page of the PDF using the same settings.
Can I control how subtle it looks?
Yes. Lower the opacity (10–25% works well for a subtle mark) and adjust the colour, size and angle to suit the document.
Where can the watermark sit on the page?
You can place it in the centre, top or bottom, or run it diagonally across the page from corner to corner.
Tips
- Use a low opacity of 10–25% so the watermark stays readable without hiding the text underneath.
- A diagonal position reads clearly across most page layouts.
- Pick a colour that contrasts with the document so the mark is visible but not distracting.
