What is the Split PDF tool?

A private tool for cutting one PDF into several separate files by clicking between the pages. Each coloured group of pages becomes its own output PDF. Everything runs in your browser, so your document never leaves your computer, and it works offline after the first load.

How to use Split PDF

  1. Open a PDF — Drop a PDF onto the page or click to choose a file. It's read locally and never uploaded.
  2. Add splits — Click the scissor markers between pages to add a split. Each split starts a new output file, and the pages are colour-coded by group.
  3. Use the shortcuts (optional) — Press Split every page to break the file into single pages, or Reset splits to clear all your cuts and start over.
  4. Check the output files — The Output files panel and the page-count readout show how many PDFs you'll get and which pages each one contains.
  5. Download — A single group saves one PDF; two or more groups download together as a ZIP, with each file named after the original document.

Frequently asked questions

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?

No. The file is split entirely in your browser, so it never leaves your computer.

How do I split a PDF into single pages?

Press Split every page — it adds a cut between every page so each one becomes its own PDF.

What do the coloured groups mean?

Each coloured group of pages becomes one output PDF. Adding a split between two pages starts a new group from that point.

Will I get one file or several?

If you keep everything as one group you get a single PDF. As soon as there are two or more groups, the tool downloads them together in a ZIP.

Can I undo a split I added by mistake?

Yes — click the same marker again to remove that split, or press Reset splits to clear all of them at once.
