Merge PDF
Combine multiple PDFs into a single file.
Open Merge PDF →What is the Merge PDF tool?
A free, private tool that combines several PDF files into a single document, entirely in your browser. Add your files, drag them into the order you want, and download one merged PDF. Nothing is uploaded to a server, so your documents stay on your device and the tool works offline after the first load.
How to use Merge PDF
- Add your PDFs — Drop PDF files onto the page or click to choose them. You can select several at once, and add more later with the + Add more button.
- Put them in order — Drag the rows to reorder, or use the up and down arrows. The files are joined top-to-bottom in the order shown.
- Tidy the list if needed — Remove any file you don't want, sort the list A–Z by name, or clear everything to start again.
- Download the merged PDF — Use the Download button to save a single combined PDF that contains every page from each file.
Frequently asked questions
Are my PDFs uploaded to a server?
No. The merge happens entirely in your browser using a built-in PDF engine, so your files never leave your device and the tool works offline.
In what order are the files combined?
Top to bottom, in the exact order of the list. Drag the rows or use the arrow buttons to arrange them before downloading.
How many PDFs can I merge at once?
You need at least two files to merge. Each row shows its page count and size, and the toolbar tallies the total files and pages.
Why won't one of my files load?
Only PDF files are accepted — other file types are skipped. If a PDF is encrypted or corrupt the merge can fail; remove or repair that file and try again.
Does merging reduce the page quality?
No. Pages are copied across as-is, so the merged PDF keeps the original page content. To shrink the result, run it through the Compress PDF tool afterwards.
Tips
- Use the A–Z button to order files quickly when they're named in sequence.
- Add files in batches by dropping more onto the workspace at any time.
- If the merged file is large, follow up with Compress PDF to reduce its size.
